Dictionary* says:
State of tranquility or quiet, freedom from civil disturbance, a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war.
What it REALLY means:
The feeling of contentment with your life at present; your state of being when things feel comfortable, at ease, light; time in which you feel centered, calm and well.
Why it MATTERS?
Creating PEACE lessens worry, increases pleasure and enhances your 'here and now'. More PEACE in your life allows for more enjoyment and appreciation of your life.

SIMPLIFY Update:
* Sometimes I THINK I need more than I really do. It can be more clothes, more money, more whatever. However the TRUTH is that I never NEED as much as I think I do...I can actually do with less, and still feel ok. To me, that is part of living a simpler life.
* Simplifying is liberating! It's cathartic and enables you to get out from under things that are draining and make room for better energy to flow in to your life.
